ORGANISATION CHART

Paloma Martín is a Graduate of Law from the Complutense University of Madrid and holds a PhD from Rey Juan Carlos University.
Since August 2019, she is the Regional Minister of the Environment, Urban Planning and Sustainability of the Autonomous Community of Madrid. President of Fundación Canal and Sierra de Guadarrama National Park. She also serves as a delegate to the Government Committee for Economic Affairs. Until her appointment, she was a director at Deloitte. Prior to this, she held positions in the Regional Ministry of Health and Social Affairs of the Autonomous Community of Madrid, and has worked in the Ministry of Public Administration. She was also the spokesperson for Justice and Home Affairs in the Assembly of Madrid.
She has served as a member of the Urban Planning Commission (2011-2014), a member of the Environment Council (2014-2015) and a member of the Madrid Institute for Rural, Agricultural and Food Research and Development (IMIDRA) Board of Directors (2011-2014).

Mrs. Isabel CuevasDirector of the Presidential Office

With a PhD in Economics and Business, he is a University professor and Co-Director of the Unesco-URJC-UNED Chair on Water and Peace. Until his appointment, he was Dean of the Association of Economists of Madrid and First Vice-President of the General Council of Economists of Spain. He has extensive experience in corporate governance at various public companies (RENFE, Instituto de Crédito Oficial, Gran Telescopio de Canarias, of which he was Chairman) and private companies (GAMESA Corporación Tecnológica, S.A., ENCE Energía y Celulosa, S.A., AXIARE Patrimonio Socimi, S.A., among others). He has also worked extensively in the Civil Service: he was Director-General of Taxes, Financial Policy and European Funds in the Regions of Castille and Leon and Madrid, Director-General of Budget Analysis and Planning at the Ministry of Economy and Finance and Secretary of State for Waters and Coasts at the Ministry of the Environment.

Born in Valencia in 1964. A graduate in Civil Engineering from the Universidad Politécnica in Madrid. Before joining Canal de Isabel II in 2000, she worked for Infilco Española, a water treatment company belonging to the Entrecanales Group. In 2005 she was appointed Deputy Director of Engineering and Construction at Canal de Isabel II. In 2014 she accepted her current position as Director of Operations for the Company. For almost ten years, she was a member of the Commission II of the Spanish Association for Water Supply and Sanitation. She represents the Community of Madrid on the Tajo Hydrographic Confederation Water Board.

Born in Madrid in 1968. A graduate in Civil Engineering from the Universidad Politécnica in Madrid, specialising in Foundations and Structures. Before joining Canal de Isabel II in 2002, he worked in the private water industry, on the design, construction and operation of waste water treatment plants. He holds several management positions at Canal de Isabel II, directing water and sanitation projects, and responsible for the operation and maintenance of the waste water treatment installations. He has held the post of Director of Innovation and Engineering since 2014.

Born in Azcoitia (Guipúzcoa) in 1959. A Telecommunications Engineer, specialised in Radio Communication and in Data Communication and Switching Architectures, graduated from the Universidad Politécnica of Madrid. He was employed in the private sector, working in software development and microwave technology. He joined Canal de Isabel II in 1989, as Head of the Communications Division. In 2000 he was appointed deputy director of Technology for Canal de Isabel II, and in 2004 he took over the management of the newly-created Division of Business and Municipal Development. In 2007 he became Director of Information and Remote Control Systems, and since September 2009 he has been responsible for the company's Commercial Directorate.

Born in Madrid in 1973. He has a degree in Economics-Business (E2) from ICADE (1996), a master's degree in Management of Real Estate Companies from the Business Institute (Instituto de Empresa, IE) (2006-2007), was part of the BBVA Management Training Programme - courses given by IE and IESE - between 2002 and 2003, and a master's degree in Management of Credit Institutions from the National Distance Education University (UNED) (1997). He has spent most of his career in the financial sector - BBVA, Fortis and BNP Paribas - where he joined the Public Accounts Department of Argentaria in 1997, subsequently working in different business areas: corporate, stock exchange, international depository and custody, investment funds, pension funds, private banking and real estate investment for institutional and private investors.


She is a State Lawyer and a Graduate in Law from the Complutense University of Madrid. She has been secretary of the Board of the National Lottery and State Gambling Company (SELAE), of the National Heritage Property Management Company (SEGIPSA), of Acción Cultural Española, S.A. (ACE), of the Sociedad Estatal de Exposiciones Internacionales, S.A. and the EFE Agency. She was a director of various companies, such as SELAE, SEIASA and INISAS. She has held various posts in the Government Legal Service, such as Head of the Government legal service at the Ministry of the Treasury, Economy and Finance, at the Secretariat of State of Economy, in the Government Legal Services at Avila and Segovia; and other posts at Government legal services, such as before the Supreme Court, before the High Court of Justice of Madrid, at the Ministry of Health, at the Railway Infrastructure Management Body (GIF), at the Government’s Regional Office in Madrid and at the Regional Administrative-Economic Court of Madrid.

Born in Madrid, he is a General Brigadier of the Guardia Civil in a reserve situation since March 2018. During his career in the armed institute, he has held positions of responsibility in the Information Technology Service of the Guardia Civil, in the Headquarters of the Support Services and in the Permanent Secretariat of Evaluation and Classification, among other units.
Graduated in Computer Science, he has completed the Official Master's Degree in Information Technology and Computer Systems at the Rey Juan Carlos University, the Higher Course of Specialist in Security Management and Direction at the Francisco de Victoria University and has the title of Director of Security issued by the Interior Ministry. He has also taken courses related to High Management of Financial Resources, Public Safety, Technology Management and Cryptology in entities such as CESEDEN, the Ortega y Gasset University Institute and the Business School Institute, among others.
From December 2018 until his incorporation to Canal de Isabel II, he has been Secretary General of the Autonomous Agency for the Management of Infrastructures and State Security Equipment.

Sistemas de calidad

Desde 2017, Canal de Isabel II cuenta con una línea de actuación a través del desarrollo de proyectos de mejora de procesos, mediante metodologías que persiguen la eficacia y la eficiencia en la gestión, poniendo el acento en las personas y en la eliminación de actividades que no aportan valor, con un enfoque centrado en maximizar el valor del cliente. Hasta el momento, se han llevado a cabo 34 proyectos de mejora, en los que han participado más de 250 personas, habiéndose identificado más de 300 mejoras en distintos ámbitos de gestión de la empresa.
