The Board of Directors of Canal de Isabel II has appointed Pedro Manuel Rollán Chairman of the public entity. Rollán is Regional Minister of Presidency, Vice-President and Spokesperson for the Regional Government of Madrid. Rollán, who already formed part of the company’s Board of Directors as proprietary director, replaces the current Chairman of the Community of Madrid, Ángel Garrido.

The Board of Directors also approved the appointment of the new vice-chairman, Rafael Prieto, a director within the company since April 2016. Finally, a proposal was submitted, pending approval, for the proprietary director, Rosalía Gonzalo, to form part of the Appointments and Remunerations Committee.

Pedro Rollán holds a Master’s Degree in Marketing by the Escuela Superior de Estudios de Marketing (Higher School of Marketing Studies), another in Administration and Business Management and another in Public Administration and in Leadership. From 1995 to 2003, he was manager of the commercial division of the central Area at Schweppes Spain.

He was Mayor of Torrejón de Ardoz between 2007 and 2015. In September 2011, he was elected as a member of the Board of Governors of the Spanish Federation of Districts and Provinces (FEMP) and formed part, within the FEMP, of the Local Administration National Commission. In 2015, he ratified his third consecutive absolute majority, as the second most voted-for mayor in the main cities of Spain. In June 2015, he was appointed Regional Minister of Transport, Housing and Infrastructures in the Community of Madrid; in September 2017 he became Regional Minister of the Environment, Local Government and Urban Planning in the Community of Madrid; and in May 2018, he was appointed Regional Minister of Presidency, Vice-President and Spokesperson for the Regional Government of Madrid.
