Canal de Isabel II launches the public call for 700 new positions

2018-11-30

Its cover forms part of the company’s commitment to reduce the rate of seasonality

  • The publication of the processes aimed at covering 200 official positions will continue until the end of the year

Canal de Isabel II has begun the process for the public call for 700 positions announced by Company Management and its Workers Committee last July. The publication of the processes aimed at covering 200 official positions will begin next week and continue until the end of the year.

The aim of covering these positions is to reduce the high rate of temporary employment within the company resulting from the ban on public entities offering indefinite contracts since the approval in 2012 of the state laws on rationalization of public expenditure. This commitment is included in one of the lines of the 2018-2030 Strategic Plan, the aim of which is to boost the talent, commitment and health of the company’s professionals.

Of the 700 new positions, approximately 400 are the consolidation of temporary employment, therefore a merit benchmark will be applied to take into account experience in the company and in institutions or companies dedicated to the management of the water cycle. The other 300 vacancies will not take into account this aspect.

Access to the positions shall be carried out by means of public procedures, which shall be governed by the principles of publicity, transparency, equality, merit and capacity pursuant to the provisions established in the company’s 1st Collective Agreement and in the agreements reached with the Company’s Committee. Registration for these processes may be carried out, from next Monday, via the Canal de Isabel II website, which will also include all the details regarding applications.
