The service covers, among other needs, the computer management of users’ incidents 24 hours a day, 365 days a year

  • The contract shall have a duration of four years and will service more than 2,400 computers and almost 1,300 mobile devices
  • Canal de Isabel II has an information security plan, framed in its Strategic Plan 2018-2030

The Governing Council of the Autonomous Community of Madrid was informed today of the proposal by Canal de Isabel II to award the contract for user services, maintenance, support, and administration services of the company’s microcomputer systems. The procedure, with an initial duration of four years, to which an extension of one year may be added, shall be awarded for a total amount of 6,905,586.24 euros.

With this contract, user services, support and maintenance services for microcomputers a total of 2,424 computers, maintenance service for a total of 1,297 mobile devices, and administration of the computer systems that make up the infrastructure of the Canal de Isabel II customer: 4,484 users and more than 3,200 email accounts.

Furthermore, the contract covers the Canal de Isabel II users computer services: a management service for incidents and requests available 24 hours a day, every day of the year, which makes it possible to cover all company services.

Finally, the contract includes the management of printing equipment and the distribution of software updates and security patches to all computers and devices, as well as work times to carry out computer projects during the term of the contract.


Within its Strategic Plan 2018-2030, Canal has an information security plan, with which it seeks to achieve the highest degree of maturity in cybersecurity management, in order for the company to be positioned among those within the sector with greater degree of cyber resilience.

Canal de Isabel II was founded more than 165 years ago to supply water to the city of Madrid. It employs more than 2500 people working daily to provide a service to more than 6 million people in the region. It is an innovative company, a leader in its sector, and internationally recognised for its management of the integrated water cycle.

It operates 13 reservoirs; 78 drinking water treatment plants; 78 spring tapings; 17,556 kilometres of water conveyance and distribution; 131 drinking water pumping stations and 133 waste water stations; 14,956 kilometres of sewer system networks; 65 storm tanks; 877 kilometres of collectors and sewer pipelines; 157 waste water treatment plants; and 152 kilometres of recycled water networks.
